An echocardiogram (also known as an Echo) is an ultrasound test for your heart. It uses sound waves sent through a transducer. The device picks up echoes of the sound waves as they travel over your heart. These echoes are then turned into pictures of your heart that can be seen on a screen by your sonographer.
How long does it take?
Most echocardiograms are completed within 60 minutes.
